Anyone who’s been to Chili’s knows the feeling of sitting down, getting handed a menu the size of a textbook and taking forever to decide what you want. It’s fair — at it’s peak, the menu actually had 125 options, from burgers to flatbreads to burritos.

If you visit Chili’s after September 18, though, the menu will look totally different. In an effort to boost sales and customer experience, Chili’s is cutting 40 percent of its menu items, The Street reports. With a menu as big as Chili’s, that’s a full 50 items that won’t make the cut.

In a press release, Chili’s admitted they went a little wild adding menu items, saying the restaurant “tried to be all things to all guests, therefore compromising execution and resulting in a fuzzy food reputation.” While they’re not going so far as to their original, 25-item menu, they are getting rid of a ton of dishes.

“We apologize to any guest who misses a departed dish,” Chili’s President Kelli Valade said in a statement, “but with this bold move we commit to all Guests to do a better job of serving our famous food on every visit, in every restaurant.”

While they haven’t announced which items are going yet, Eater predicts much of the Tex-Mex fare will go, like Fresh Mex Bowls, Chicken Enchiladas, and Mexican-Style Street Corn. Fajitas are safe though… Chili’s popularized the dish back in 1986, so they’re on the list of foods to stay.

The restaurant says it will focus on its roots, paring down to feature “meatier burgers,” ribs, and of course, chili. Since its original menu featured margaritas, your happy hour fave is likely to safe too.
